The systems of the auspicious
To begin in a straight line, moving forward without pretense
As the feet move at the pace of a heartbeat, the shift occurs.
As ethereal double emerges from inside the vessel
Returning to our straight line, or is it now
Under new authority, the ethereal double sways the inner spiral, as the vessel still believes to be straight.
Like the complex system of a sea shell
The labyrinthine maze of the inner ear
A pattern of circles
A system of defense
Internal mechanism
Un explained
But examined
Outside of dominant and recessive
When does this spiral cease being mine and start being yours?
Are they ever either?
When pattern is observed outside of the body
It becomes an object of time, not of experience
And there you are
Separation
Realization is sudden and violent
The simplicity of a straight line is due to false reality.
This is a cautionary tale of that reality
That is to say Unreal/Imposter - Imposter as within
Or
Imposter as without sight
If two things are the same
They must be different
As in
Sight influx without sight
Magnetic reverie in tune with the body
Without sight, with out pretense
Let this highway of space extend
Revert and comfort
Into the place where straight lines become spirals
And spirals
Become spirals
Breaking branches and patient ghosts
These auspicious obstacles are manifest
Within the boundary of the internal
Ghost and the external wanderer
With no point of reference
No direction but our internal compass
We won’t ever be lost
Circular like the universe
Like the tiny inside of
Our bodies
Like the pattern inside of a sea shell
The systems we hold trust in
We never get lost
We just walk in circles
When vision is obscured, perceived truth and bodily truth become disconnected. In suspended: untethered to the within and outside two wandering figures are suspended in a space with no depth and no boundaries, an emblem of their inner confusion. The dual image conveys the poetic consistencies and inconsistencies of a phenomenon described in field tests conducted in the 1920s. These tests demonstrated that when humans are deprived of a singular point of focus, like a mountaintop or sun, they begin to walk in circles. Blindfolded and without the ability to correct its path, the body intuitively takes over, and although the subjects perceive that they are walking in a straight line, they are in truth walking in a series of unpredictable loops. It has yet to be confirmed why this particular phenomenon happens.
Suspended: untethered to the within and outside is a performance that embodies and proves that what is limited in perception is boundless in truth.
